Boarding Life

During the week, the focus is on campus classes and activities. The weekends are activity-filled, and plans take advantage of the Northern California location. Everyone participates in three special community getaways each year; on other weekends, students who live nearby may choose to go home.
The Weekend Activity Program takes advantage of the school's proximity to Stanford University, the Santa Cruz beaches, the museums and stadiums of the San Francisco, and the ski runs of Lake Tahoe. Events such as the Taiko Festival in Berkeley, the Lunar New Year celebrations in Chinatown, and the musical The Lion King in San Jose exemplify the culturally diverse activities students can experience living in such an ideal location.
While the Priory may appear rural, tucked in a network of horse and hiking trails, it is not isolated. The dorms are accompanied by 18 units of faculty housing on campus in addition to the monastery just up the hill. After school and on weekends the boarders' daily lives involve interactions with teammates, classmates, roommates, monks, and families with small children a diverse community with a shared goal of living harmoniously according to Benedictine values.
